Support the School of Journalism

It is only through the generosity of our alumni and friends that we are able to continue the stellar reputation of the School of Journalism at MTSU. The School of Journalism is funded only by tuition and the State of Tennessee. The other portion comes from grants and gifts by foundations and individuals like you.

Your generous support will help bolster our converged classrooms and labs, inject a global worldview across our academic programs, and propel our advertising, journalism, public relations and visual communication to national and international prominence.

Here are some of the ways you can support our mission:

Make an Annual Gift

Make an annual gift to your alma mater. You may wish to honor or recognize a favorite professor. Contact Dr. Gregory Pitts at Greg.Pitts@mtsu.edu or College of Mass Communication Development Director Abby White at Abby.White@mtsu.edu or 615 898-5756 for more details.

Create or Support a Scholarship Fund

You can create or give to one of our existing scholarship funds. Your gift will fund the tuition for several students each year. Contact the journalism office at 615-898-2814 or Development Director Abby White at Abby.White@mtsu.edu for more information.

Create an Endowment

Endowed gifts provide support in perpetuity through scholarships, fellowships, professorships and chairs. Contact Development Director Abby White at Abby.White@mtsu.edu for details.

Support the School of Journalism’s Discretionary Fund

Our Discretionary Fund provides the opportunity to support the mission of the journalism school in such varied ways as travel, scholarships, publicity and outreach. Contact Dr. Gregory Pitts, director at Greg.Pitts@mtsu.edu, 615-494-8925 for more information.

Naming Opportunities

There are many naming opportunities within the School of Journalism and College of Mass Communication. Contact Development Director Abby White at Abby.Whtie@mtsu.edu for more details.
